Dear Mr. Kaa Thaa,
I can read the texts, but unable to type in Tamil. I'm using WIN XP. I have followed your instructions, but can't type. Please help.

Out of 9 questions here, your post answers only first 3 questions. Answer the remaining questions below so that we can guide you better:

1] What is your Operating System ?
2] If Win98/ME/NT, have you upgraded UPS10.dll successfully?
3] Can you read Unicode Tamil Letters here? தமிழ் எழுத்து தெரிகிறதா?
4] What Tamil Software are you using to type tamil texts? (Murasu Anjal/eKalappai/Kural)
5] What is the Exact Version of that Tamil Software?
6] What Editor are you using to type Tamil Texts?
7] Have you checked the Encoding & Keyboard of the software setting? What are they?
8] When you type using Unicode, what is the result you get?
9] What browser are you using?

Most common mistake people do is not downloading appropriate Tamil Software.
The best one is eKalappai. It's freely available here.

தமிழில் பிழை இல்லாமலும் மிக சுலபமாகவும் பழக microsoft ன் TME தான் பெஸ்ட் கண்ணா பெஸ்ட்!!

சந்தேகமேயில்லை. microsoft ஆனதால் மிகவும் பர்பெக்டாக word, internet explorer என்று எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் அற்புதமாக அமைகிறது. ekalappai ல் வரும் cut and paste பிழைகள் ஒன்றுகூட இதில் வராது.

இதை bhashaindia.com என்ற உரலிலிருந்து கீழிறக்கிக்கொள்ளவும்.

மேலும், போனடிக் முறையில் டைப் பண்ணுவது முதலில் எளிதாக தோன்றினாலும், அது மிஸ்டேக் வரும். மிக ஸ்லோவானது. TAM99 கீபோர்ட்தான் பெஸ்ட். ஷிப்ட் கீ க்கள் ஒன்றுகூட உபயோகிக்காமல் தமிழில் டைப் செய்யும் அற்புதமான எளிய, வேகமான முறை இது.

தோஷம் என்ற வார்த்தைக்கு தவறான எண்ணம் எதுவும் வைத்து நான் சொல்லவில்லை. பழகிய தோஷம் என்பது ஒரு சொல் வழக்கு (எங்கள் வட்டாரங்களில்...) அந்த அடிப்படையில்தான் குறிப்பிட்டேன்.
